The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of James Morrison can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Travis Trueblood
Condolence: I was fortunate to count James as a dear friend and mentor. James took me under his wing shortly after I became a lawyer at Holland & Knight in 2000. I learned a lot from James and worked with him on his Native American related cases. I travelled with him across the country working on these cases while at Holland & Knight. I always appreciated James' wit, charm and advice. We recently connected the last few years of his life and he was still trying to find ways to help me in my career and create an opportunity for us to work together. We would share ideas, strategies, approaches and concepts. I was shattered to learn of his passing and will never forget the many life and work lessons he shared. My prayers continue to be with his family. God bless.

Condolence: This has been tough on all of James friends in Minnesota. I met James through a tragedy that took place at my home in Orlando and although we met and developed a professional relationship he became family over the years. James was a kind and very thoughtful man who will be truly missed. A natural teacher he taught me a lot and I am very grateful of that as I can now pass on those jewels to my offsprings. To his family in NC I am truly sorry for your loss. James would always say to me "it's not if I die but when I die", this let's me know that he is at peace and shining down on us constantly. God bless and much Love

Condolence From: Emanuel (Manny) Johnson, Jr.
Condolence: Martin Luther King, Jr. once said whatever career you chose, be the best at it that you can be. I am living proof that Jim was the best Attorney he could be. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), my employer, did not take kindly to me objecting to an article in the Law Enforcement Bulletin (LEB), distributed worldwide to LE professionals that directed FBI Supervisors to watch and document women and minority employees closely, so that when you dismissed them and they challenged their dismissal, the FBI would have the documentation to sustain the dismissal.
At the end of the next performance appraisal period (PAR), I was rated minimally acceptable (MA) in 4 of my 5 rating areas. I subsequently appealed and won. FBIHQ admonished my rating Officials and ordered them to have me sign the admonishment for return to FBIHQ.
Shortly thereafter, my immediate superiors prepared a false document, presented it to me with an offer to resign rather than suffer the embarrassment of termination. I refused their offer and retired 16 years later.
God directed me to Jim. He took my case and that is why I am not currently HANGING outside FBIHQ at 9th & Pennsylvania Ave, NW, WDC. Even though, I was have been mummified by now, they would still have me there as a deterrent to others.
I will forever be grateful to Jim. Rest in Peace my brother. You have fought the good fight.
Manny
