DRACUT, MA--Charlotte Priestley Johnson, 93 years old, died September 28, 2017, at Willow Manor, in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth G. Johnson.
She was born in Lawrence on November 13, 1923, a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Tordoff) Priestley. She was a graduate of Lowell High School, and Lowell State Teachers College, Class of 1945. She was a first grade teacher in Tewksbury for 35 years.
In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, dancing, and playing cards, especially bridge. She belonged to the Dracut Grange. Charlotte was a faithful member of the Centralville United Methodist Church, and was known for her generosity to many charitable organizations. She wintered for over 20 years in Bradenton, FL.
Surviving her are her two sisters: Priscilla A. Lenox of Wolfboro, NH; and Janet P. Richardson, and her husband Gilbert, of Dracut; also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth, her son Harry Johnson, her siblings: William Priestley, Marion Carver, Eleanor Priestley, and Joseph A. Priestley.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, October 5th, from 4:00-6:00 pm at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Her funeral service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10:00 am at Christ Church United, 10 Arlington Street, Dracut. Burial to follow at the Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell.
