Letha F. Smith (nee Cobo) of Springville, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at the Jennie B. Richmond Nursing Home at the age of 90.

She was born October 25, 1926 in Corcord, NY- a daughter to the late Ernest and Luella (nee Ellis) Cobo.

She worked as a secretary for Ellis Bros. Insurance in Springville and was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Springville. In addition, Letha was an avid quilter and member of the Southtown Peacemakers Quilt Guild, and taught Sunday School for the Salem Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her daughter: Linda (Larry) Balog of West Valley; a granddaughter: Carissa (David) Chandler; great-grandchildren: Nathan, Cara, Jenna, and Travis Balog; Aliya Duchnick; Kylie and Claire Chandler; and a great-great-granddaughter: Lillianna Balog.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband- LeVerne Smith; two sisters: Esther Reed and twin Lelia Kearney; and a grandson: Eric Balog.

Friends may call Sunday, October 8, 2017 from 4-7 PM at the Smith-Weismantel Funeral Home- 271 E. Main St., Springville. A funeral service will be held Monday, October 9 at 11 AM at the Salem Lutheran Church- Main St., Springville. Burial in Maplewood Cemetery.
