Book of Memories

The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Carol Ward can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Obituary for Carol E. Ward

Carol E. Ward
Carol was born on October 19, 1937 in Jersey City, N.J. and attended Bishop McDonnel High School in Brooklyn, N.Y. She worked for W.R. Grace for 23 years and eventually became Executive Assistant to the President; a role she cherished.

Carol passed away peacefully on September 23, 2017 after a long bout with Dementia, Degenerative Arthritis, and Renal Cancer. Carol was blessed with very little pain throughout her challenges and superior care from both her Long Term Care facility and Avow Hospice in her final stages.

She is survived by her Son, Richard Ward, Daughter in Law, Linda Ward, and Grandaughter, Carolyn Ward.

Per her wishes, a small private Catholic service was held for immediate family at Venice Memorial Gardens, where she is interred along with memorial to her late husband, Douglas Ward, at the Peter Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Carol E Ward to Avow Hospice at https://avowcares.org/donate-to-avow/
