Lupe  Castellanos (Romero)
Lupe Castellanos, also know as “MAMA”, 87, passed away peacefully on October 4th, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Lupe was born in Lodi, CA to Antonio and Guadalupe Romero on November 11, 1929. Lupe lived in Woodbridge and Lodi, attending Lodi Schools. In her younger years, Lupe was employed by Bare Ranch and worked in the fields with her own work crew. After her marriage, Lupe enjoyed being active with her daughters and grand daughters joining the PTA, being a “room mother”, leading Brownie and Girl Scout Troops, becoming an assistant soccer coach for one of her grand daughters teams, and was a past member of the Mexican American Catholic Federation. Lupe loved to travel, crochet, cook, can and enjoyed spending time with her family. Lupe was a loving supportive woman who was well respected and loved by all who met her and knew her. Lupe is survived by her three daughters, Marlene (Luis) Olivares, Alice Castellanos, and Diane (Ramon) Marroquin all of Lodi. She has four grand daughters, Michelle Olivares (LaMont) Noble of Garden Grove, Christina Olivares of Lodi, Laurie Marroquin of Turlock, and Lisa Marroquin (Paul) Montona of Rhode Island. She also has a great grand daughter, Abigail Grace Montona. Lupe was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Frank Castellanos whom she met when she was just ten years old, her parents, sister Eva Velasquez and brother Paul Montalvo. Her surviving siblings include Romelia Rodriguez, Victoria Leos, Esther Torres and Tony Romero. A huge thank you to Hospice of San Joaquin for your warmth and compassion, especially Roland. Family and friends are invited to visit Tuesday, October 10th from 10am-4pm at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 South Fairmont Avenue. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with committal immediately following at Cherokee Memorial Park.
