Larry Duane "Dude" Carter, 78, of Thompsonville, passed away at 1:30 p.m., Friday,
October 6, 2017 at his residence with his loving family by his side.

Larry was born June 19, 1939 in Hoopeston, Illinois to Robert Gordon & Edna (Bell) Carter. He married Carroll Eldridge on October 29, 1958 in Johnston City. They have shared nearly 59 year of marriage together.

Larry was retired, having been a mechanic and machinist for many years. He was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on cars.

Larry is survived by his wife, Carroll Carter of Thompsonville; daughter, Terri Carter of West Frankfort; son, Larry (Melissa) Carter of West Frankfort, eighteen grandchildren; twenty one great-great grandchildren; sister, Rita Lindsey of Johnston City. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Pamela Brannan and Sherry Lynn Isaacs; granddaughter, Jennifer Brannan; two grandchildren, Jennifer Brannon and Ryan Michael Isaacs.

Celebration of life services will be held at a later date.
