Obituary for Martha Gambill

Martha  Gambill
Martha E. Gambill, age 96, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017, 11:30 pm, at St. Francis Hospital in Bartlett, Tennessee. She survived a stroke on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 and was transported to St. Francis where she was immediately placed in Hospice care. Martha was a member of St. Stephen’s UNited Methodist Church.

Martha was born on November 16, 1920 in Memphis, Tennessee and was one of eight (8) children. She was raised in Memphis and was a graduate of Humes High School. She worked as a bookkeeper for various companies through the years including Motor Parts Company, James L. Dallas CPA, and UT Hospital for Doctors Carr and Skinner as well as Doctors Mayer and Mathis. She was preceded in death by all of her siblings and her husband, Norman J. Gambill.

Survivors include her Son, James Norman Gambill (Cheri) of Oakland, TN; her Grand-Sons, Robert J.Gambill (Sarah) of Coppell, TX; Martin B. Gambill (Amanda) of Nesbit, MS; James A. Gambill of Fayetteville, AR; and a host of loving, Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be held from 11:00am -1:00pm on October 10, 2017 with funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. Committal will be immediately after all of which will be held at Forest Hill Funeral Home & Memorial Park - East, 2440 Whitten Rd., Memphis, TN 38133 (901) 382-1000.
