The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Robert Whalen can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence: Mr. Whalen came while I was in high school. I am grateful that he did! He started a "trip of the month club" where for a minimal amount kids could go on a school sponsored trip. He took us to Broadway plays, football at Shea Stadium, and even to Expo '67 in Montreal. He also required Senior class officers to take turns reading the morning announcements over the PA system. I was terrified! Thank you Mr. Whalen for broadening our horizons and helping us to overcome fears. You made a big impact on the lives of your students in positive ways.
