Obituary for Roger C. "Pup" Ware

Roger C. "Pup" Ware
Cedar Lake and East Millinocket – Roger C. Ware, 76, passed away unexpectedly at his daughters home in Holden on Tuesday evening, October 10, 2017. He was born October 12, 1940 in Fairfield, the son of Otten and Gladys (Smith) Ware.
Roger was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1958. He enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 shortly after graduating, where he served for 3 years. Following his time of service, he began work at the Great Northern Paper Company in East Millinocket, from where he retired in 1999 with 36 years of service. Together with his wife, Louise, he built his house in East Millinocket, and their camp on Cedar Lake. Pup loved living at the lake, motorcycling, snowmobiling, and “hunting” – well spending time in the woods. He and Louise spent the last 18 winters in Florida, where he enjoyed the warm weather, and being social. A constant putterer, he was a master sweeper. Louise says she started with six inches of concrete in their camp and now has four! Most of all, he loved spending time with his family…always being glad to see them come and to see them go!
Roger is survived by his wife of 52 years, Louise (Coon) Ware of Cedar Lake; three children, Troy Ware of Scarborough, Tori Gaetani and her husband Patrick, and Tina Perkins and her husband David, all of Holden; seven grandchildren, Samuel and Jillian Ware, Mitchel, Maria, and Madison Gaetani, and Jack and Jenna Perkins; a sister, Carole Harris of East Millinocket; several nephews and a niece. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Brian and Philip.
Memorial services will be held 11 A.M. Saturday, October 14 at the Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack Street, Millinocket. Gifts in memory of Roger may be sent to the American Diabetes Association, 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 900
Arlington, VA 22202.
