Obituary for Melvin Lee Hurst
Melvin Lee Hurst, 66, of Lexington, husband of Kanda Sue Hurst passed on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the University of Kentucky Medical Center.
Melvin was born August 8, 1951 at Knoxville, TN, the son of Roy Hurst and the late Trula Hurst. In addition to his mother he was also preceded in death by a sister Patricia Hurst.
Melvin was a self-employed business man operating Melvin Hurst Electrical. Melvin was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an amazing man and loved by so many.
In addition to his devoted wife of forty-nine years, he is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Lee Hurst; a son Timothy Dwayne (Angela) Hurst; seven grandchildren, Miranda LeAnn Hurst, Haley DeShae Hurst, Elizabeth Renee Jones, Alexandria Marie Hardin, Timothy Peyton Hurst, Isaac Robert Hurst, Olivia Marie Hurst; one great grandchild, Whitney LeAnn Hurst; and one sister, Elizabeth Guzman.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 4 pm with Rev. Steve Shultz of Tennessee, officiating. Visitation will be Saturday at Lakes Funeral Home from 2-4 pm.
