Electoria was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, where she also met and married Monroe Brown. Soon after, Monroe was called to serve his country in the U.S. Army, a service he did with much pride for nearly 20 years.
Easter/Resurrection Sunday was Electoria’s most treasured time for it was on that Sunday of her 25th year that she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She often retold the story of how her life changed dramatically for the better. Her favorite scripture to describe her joy in serving the Lord was Psalm 27:4 – “One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.” Soon after beginning her “new life,” the Lord called her into the ministry where she would travel the United States and foreign countries preaching and teaching about her Lord. In the early 1990s she was ordained by the Christ Gospel Churches, International and also received her degree thru CGCII. Along with pastoring, she also assisted in many capacities with the outreach her long-time friend, Annette “Sis,” had started. And, as a true pastor, she took the opportunity each year to lead many of the young men to the Lord, serving as principal, counsellor, coach and friend. She was a much-loved and respected pastor, mother, sister, grandmother and friend. Upon her retirement from the ministry in December 2016, she and Dirk enjoyed exploring N. Texas and enjoying the fellowship of her grandchildren and friends. She had many plans for the future but as she would often say, “God has a better plan for your life.” Her sudden passing has left an emptiness that will never be filled but we who believe, hold fast to the promise of a great reunion with her in Glory!
Preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Monroe; one sister and two brothers and her beloved companion, Dirk.
Left to cherish her memories: Daughters – Dianna, Electoria J. and LaRhonda; two sisters Helena & Kendra and brothers Lawrence, Dorran, Ricky, Gary, and Ronnie; fifteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, two godsons and a host of friends.
