Obituary for Joseph Arnold "Joe" Cepress III

Joseph A. Cepress III, 65, of Kenosha, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017, doing what he loved to do, being a professional truck driver.
Born in Marshfield, WI, on September 8, 1952, he was the son of Joseph and June (Stoflet) Cepress II. Joe was a 1970, graduate of Auburndale High School.
He served in the Army Reserves from 1970 until he was honorably discharged in 1981. In 1973, Joe moved from Arpin, WI, to Kenosha.
Joe loved his job and was a proud owner/operator for many years. He was very proud of his Nastic 2004 Driver of the year award. Joe had logged well over two million miles and had never been issued a ticket or been involved in an accident in 47 years of driving. He was employed by Arco Auto Carriers from 1973-1983, Kutzler Express from 1983-2010, and Ivan Cartage Co from 2010 until present.
On October 5, 1979, he married the love of his life, Sherry Nelson. They just celebrated 38 years of marriage. They had three wonderful sons together, Joe (Marie) Cepress IV of Pittsville, WI, Mike Cepress of Escanaba, MI, and Tim (Jenny) Cepress of Kenosha.
Joe was a member of Mount Zion Lutheran Church. He loved working in his yard, gardening, going on trips with his wife, and most of all, spending time with his precious grandchildren, MaKatlyn, Lil Joe, Jadin, and twins Eleanor and Maggie.
Surviving Joe is his wife, Sherry of Kenosha; his mother, June; three brothers, Jerry (Melodee) Cepress, Jeff (Lori) Cepress, and John (Sue) Cepress, all of Arpin, WI; one sister, Jeanette (Ronny) Cepress of Marshfield, WI; father-in-law, Larry Baumbach of Arpin; sisters-in-law Sindy (Julian) Symbal of Stanley, WI, and Sara Blank of Marshfield, WI; and brothers-in-law, Larry (Ginny) Baumbach of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and Jon Knutson of Arpin, WI. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He will be sadly missed by everyone.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph II; brother, Jim Cepress; mother-in-law, Marlene Baumbach; sister-in-law, Sandy Knutson; and “Uncle” Bud and “Aunt” Gladys Brehm.
Serving as Pallbearers are John Nelson, Armando Aranda, Keith Slagg, Dennis Ostergaard, Lil Joe Cepress, his three sons and brothers.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17th, at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 5927-37th Avenue, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. with military honors. Interment will be private.
