Mrs. Pearlie Mae Glasco Davidson, 71, of 1304 Forest Park Drive, Statesville, passed away at Novant Health Center in Winston-Salem, N.C., following an extended illness. She was born in Rowan County on July 8, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Aldonia Glasco. In addition to hr mother, she was preceded in death by her grandmother, Gussie Glasco, who also helped to raise her, a granddaughter, Kalei Marie Davidson and two brothers, Laverne Taylor and Robert Taylor.
She attended the Rowan County Schools and formerly attended Elmwood AME Zion Church where she served as a Missionary. In addition to sewing, singing and playing the piano, she was a loving mother, grandmother and sister.
She leaves to cherish the memory of her life, James William Davidson, Jr. of Statesville; three daughters, Karen Davidson, Teresa Davidson and Penny (Edward) Peck, all of Statesville; four brothers, Calvin Taylor of Califormnia, Michael (Robin) Taylor of Kannapolis, James Taylor and Ricky Taylor, both of Salisbury; two sisters, Net Taylor Cleveland of Greensboro and Debra Taylor of Salisbury; a special aunt, Allene Alexander of Salisbury; fourteen grandchildren, Jacquelin Davidson, Vernie Clement, Auburn Clement, Quinten Holmes, Latasha Davidson, Marian Clement, LaKeshia Holmes, Yana Davidson, Malik Rankins, Tyrese Davidson, Christopher Sloan, Brianna Davidson, James Davidson, III, Jay'Den Davidson; two great grandchildren, Kevin Rivers, Jr. and Skylar Summers; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, neighbors and friends.
Celebration of Life Services will be conducted Wednesday, October 18, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home. Elder Christopher Daniels will officiate and Pastor James F. Hunter will eulogize.
Mrs. Davidson will remain at Rutledge and Bigham Funeral Home where members of the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., but will assemble at the residence at other times.
