Obituary for Cindy Abbott

Cindy Abbott
Abbott, Cindy P. (nee Ruck), was suddenly taken from this life on October 20, 2017 after a brief illness. She was 49. A resident of Mount Laurel, she was born on January 17, 1968 in St. Louis Missouri and lived all over the United States and in Canada before settling and raising her children in Atco. She has been well loved throughout her life by many family and friends. She is the dearly loved mother of Callia, Walter and Jeremy Abbott and beloved grandmother of Everly Elisabeth Sterling. Cindy is survived by her loving parents, Walter K. and Janet (nee Toth) Ruck, her dear sister and brother in law, Lynette and Roger Kenney and 2 cherished nephews, Jonas and Everett Kenney. She is the dear niece of Roger and Noni Toth, Richard and Elizabeth Toth, Denny and the late Jayne Nicholson and Kenn and Jeanne Reynolds, who is her dearly loved Godmother. Cindy is also survived by her cousins, Tom Toth, Nanette Youngwirth, Joe Toth, and Bryan, Chad and Shaun Nicholson and her loving relatives from the Horn Family. Cindy was blessed to remain close with her former husband's family especially her mother in law, Nancy Abbott and her husband, George Hulse and Nancy's sister, Chris and her husband, Gary DeVicci and their children, Nicole Maldonado and Amanda DeVicci and many other loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She has been cared for by her loving and devoted partner, Kenneth Roy.
Cindy was a graduate of Bryant University in Rhode Island where she made some lifelong friends. She went onto be a Telecommunications specialist with Towers Perrin in Philadelphia and was a teaching assistant for special needs children in Winslow Township. Cindy was an active fundraiser for the American Heart Association and had her family donating and jumping rope for the AHA. She was a passionate supporter and volunteer of Fantastic Friends, an organization which helped special needs children. She loved organizing and helping coordinate the prom every year. She loved those jobs but her true passion was loving her children and taking care of their every need.
Cindy was a free spirit and had a love for music and a creative mind for crafting and gardening. She was a voracious reader who enjoyed holding a book in her hand, people in her heart and a smile in her soul. She relished being outdoors, hiking and was an excellent swimmer. She always put others needs before her own and 49 years was not enough to know and love her. She poured herself into every ounce of those years through her dedication and love for her family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Cindy at her visitation on Wednesday from 2-5pm at the Bradley Funeral Home 601 Route 73 South at Evesham Rd. Marlton where a Memorial Service will be held at 5pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made and would be appreciated to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network www.pancan.org, Fantastic Friends www.myfantasticfriends.org, Samaritan Hospice www.SamaritanNJ.org or the American Heart Association’s Jump Rope for Heart www.heart.org
