Obituary for Earl Duane Perry

Earl Duane Perry, age 89, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., passed away on October 21, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. There will be a visitation Tuesday October 24, 2017 at Magnolia Chapel South from 10 -12 PM and a Graveside service at Alabama National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
Earl was born in Glasgow, Mo. on July 27, 1928 to Alton and Addie Perry (now deceased). He was the middle son of five boys, Willis (deceased), Clyde (deceased), Ray and Dale.
His surviving family includes his loving wife of 61 years, Virginia Cobb Perry; daughters, Linda P. Lee, Sherry P. Jones and Kimberly A. Baggett and son-in-law, Shawn Baggett. His grandchildren are Ashley Jones Nigh (Rob), Kyle Perry Jones, Justin Bernarr Lee, Travis Perry Lee, David Kyle Baggett, Tristan James Lee and Bradley Earl Baggett.
Earl dedicated 20 years of his life to serving his country, retiring as a LTC in the United States Army Infantry then serving 17 more years mentoring young people as an Army JROTC instructor.
He devoted his life to his family, his country, his friends and his many ROTC cadets. He will be remembered with great life, admiration and respect.
Pallbearers will be provided by the military.
Honorary pallbearers are his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans or Taylorville Baptist Church.
