Don J Moniere Sr.
NORWOOD – Mr. Don J. Moniere, Sr., 54, of Maple Street, unexpectedly passed away October 24, 2017 at the University of Vermont Medical Center, where he had been a patient for a week.

Don was born December 28, 1962 in Massena, the twin son of the late George Moniere and Shirley Goodreau. He was a graduate of Massena Central School and Mater Dei College. On October 25, 2008, he married Rita M. Phillips in Massena.

Don had a wonderful gift of gardening and had green thumb for all he planted and was a collector of many things and enjoyed fixing anything, especially electronics. He also enjoyed fishing, pets, and cherished the time he was able to spend with his daughters.

Don is survived by his wife, Rita; his daughters, Crystal Moniere and her companion, Bruce Kearns of Massena; and Tacy Moniere of Montana; his grandchildren, Kylie, Cheyanne, Makiah, and Briel; his twin sister, Dawn Moniere of Massena; other sisters, Georgette and John Davis of Massena; Peggy Derouchie of Massena; Sarah Moniere of Washington and Michelle Komm of Washington; her brother, Michael Condon of Whitesboro; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was predeceased by his parents, George Moniere, Shirley Goodreau, and Patrick and Rose Condon; a son, Don J. ”DJ” Moniere on June 8, 2016; a grandson, Jacoby Ryan in 2005; and a sister, Rinda Premo on February 4, 2016.

A celebration of his life will be held Tuesday 4-6:00 PM at the Donaldson Funeral Home, Massena.

Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to the Potsdam Humane Society.
