Obituary for Elaine Russell

Elaine Russell
Elaine Russell was born in New Albany MS on 8/21/1939 to Arie Day McDaniel and Coy Jefferson McDaniel. She was married to the late Robert “Sonny” Russell for 38 years. Elaine has a daughter Mechelle Allen (Ronnie Allen) and 2 grandchildren, Haylee and Dalton Allen. Elaine was born one out of nine children who are Mevolene Rippy, Dora Kay Reasons, Patty Priest, Christine Wixon (Cliff Wixon), Billy McDaniel, Katherine Ledbetter (deceased), James McDaniel (deceased), Ivory Rea Stamey (deceased). She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Elaine was a very strong and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Mechelle has lost a mom, Haylee and Dalton have lost a gmaw. Haylee and Mechelle lost their best friend who they had told her everything.
Elaine was a very special person. She enjoyed talking to Haylee and her friends and family about anything and everything, from talking about sports, hunting and girl stuff. She enjoyed getting her nails done and just hanging out with the kids.
Elaine loved going and watching her grandchildren play softball and football.
She enjoyed cookouts, relaxing with family and friends. She enjoyed taking trips with her sisters and brother and just having fun.
Elaine was also a retired employee from Oakhaven Nursing Home (Shelby County) as an accountant where she worked many years.
