Obituary for Annette Lesslie Marthers

Annette Boyd Lesslie Marthers, 89, of Rock Hill, passed away peacefully Thursday, October 26, 2017 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 3, 1928 in Rock Hill, daughter of the late Joseph Preston and Mary Annette Boyd Lesslie.

In addition to her parents, we was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Conley “Buddy” Marthers; two brothers, Julian Lesslie and Tommy Lesslie; and seven sisters, Frances Mobley, Sara Lesslie, Mary Jo Parrott, Carolyn Cornell, Martha Scoggins, Ruth Jordan and Annie Milller Ainslie.

She was a lifelong member of Neely’s Creek ARP Church and adored her church family. She will forever be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Mary Ann Ballard and husband, Ricky of Rock Hill; grandchildren, Kim Ballard of Rock Hill and Dale Ballard and wife, Kim formerly of Rock Hill and currently in NY; three great-grandchildren, Cayden English, Daniel Ballard and Autumn Tucker; and great-great-grandson, Bentley Winn.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 12:00 PM, Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Neely’s Creek ARP Church. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 PM at the church with Pastor Matt Joldersma officiating. Burial will take place at Neely’s Creek ARP Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Annette’s memory to Neely’s Creek ARP Church, 974 Neelys Creek Road, Rock Hill, SC 29730.

The family would like to thank the entire staff of Providence Care Hospice for the supportive, loving and compassionate care they provided.
