Obituary for Frederick F Kluge

Frederick F. Kluge, 91, passed away on Wednesday October 25th in Freehold. Born in Orange, NJ to Frederick and Betty (Thome), he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. When he came home from the service, he obtained his Master’s degrees, all while working as an electrical engineer for PSE&G in Newark. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, and spending his time near the water, whether it be fishing, or vacationing with his family on LBI. He was an avid fan of both the Yankees and NY Giants.
Fred is predeceased by his parents, his first wife Muriel, and his son Douglas. He is survived by his wife Betty, his daughter and son-in-law Susan and Patrick Russ, his son Fred, his son Douglas’ wife Patti, and his stepchildren Andrew (Naomi) Applegate, Jan Applegate, Lyn Lewis, and John (Crissy) Applegate. Fred was also the proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren, and great grandfather to two great grandchildren.
There will be a gathering at Colts Neck Reformed Church on Wednesday November 1st from 10 to 11 am, followed by a service at 11 am. All arrangements are being handled by Freeman Funeral Home, Freehold.
