With tremendous sadness, we bid farewell to René “Sam” Ménard who passed peacefully at Glengarry Memorial Hospital. Dear son of the late Louis Ménard and late Délima Ladouceur, a wonderful husband to Cécile (Choquette), a fantastic and proud father to Michel (Natalie Mayer), Sylvain (Ginette Castonguay) and the most adoring grandfather to Benjamin, Jacob, Samuel, Myriam and Annabelle. He was treasured by his predeceased siblings, Edouard, Maurice, Clarisse, Pauline and Rita. Also survived by many brothers in-law, sisters in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral Arrangements under the care and direction of Munro & Morris Funeral Homes Ltd., 114 Main St. South, Alexandria (613-525-2772). In keeping with René’s wishes, cremation and burial has taken place. The family will receive relatives and friends at l’Église Ste-Marie de l’Assomption, Green Valley, on Friday, November 3, 2017 at 11 am. As an expression of sympathy, Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
