Obituary for Albert Dale Giek

Albert Dale Giek, age 90, born April 15, 1927 was called home to be with our Lord October 30, 2017. He will be remembered by his children, Karen (Don) Emery, Terri (Arthur) Kelm, as well as by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Shirley, whom he married after returning home to Peru, Indiana after serving as an Army Staff Sargent in Italy during WWII.
He was an engineer and an excellent “fix-it-man” all his life. Albert and Shirley moved to Colorado from Indiana in 1978, where Albert continued to work as an engineer in the Denver area before retiring to Canon City. He was a long-standing member of St. John Lutheran Church and lived in Canon City until his recent admission to the Colorado State Veterans Nursing Home in Walsenburg.
Visitation, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017, Wilson Funeral Home, 1449 S. 9th St., in Canon City. Graveside service, 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 3, 2017, Mountain Vale Memorial Park. Flowers are appreciated as Dad loved flowers as much as Mom.
