Obituary for Elizabeth Betty Bowden
Elizabeth "Betty" Bowden passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017, at Four Corners Health Care Center at the age of 89 years. Elizabeth was born January 23, 1928, to Erskin Boyce Prose and Lillian Eliza Eden in Medford, Oregon.
At a young age, Betty and her family moved to Durango, where she later graduated high School. On August 18, 1947, Betty married the love of her life, Bill Bowden Jr. in Aztec, NM. Betty worked at South City Market and retired from Woolworths. She loved to crochet, attend church, and most of all spend time with her grandkids.
Betty is survived by her son Bill Bowden (Kalinda Henneberger) of Durango, her daughter Lillian Bodine (Chuck) of Bayfield, 5 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and 2 sisters. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill, 2 sisters, and her daughter Virginia
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make donations to Hospice of Mercy. No services will be held at this time.
