Obituary for Thurman Meadows

Thurman  Meadows
Mr. Thurman Meadows, age 81, of Rosedale, Virginia passed away Tuesday (October 31, 2017) at his home. Born April 14, 1936 in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Sylvester and Bertha Stillwell Meadows. He had resided in Ohio most of his life, moving back to Russell County, Virginia in 1998. He was a devoted Christian who loved going to church and serving the Lord.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death three sons, Steve Meadows, David Meadows and Lee Meadows and two daughters, Karen Roberts and Patty Hall; five brothers, Hurley, Ellis, Jay, Sherman and Curtis and five sisters, Edna, Loretta, Linda, Bertha and Bea.
Survivors include his wife of nineteen years, Peggy Manning Meadows of the home; two sons, Michael Meadows of Delaware, Ohio and John Manning, Jr. and wife, Shellie of Inwood, West Virginia; one daughter, Lisa Byrd and husband, Jim; one brother, Harvey “T” Meadows and wife, Shirley of Rowe, Virginia; one sister, Kathleen Smith of Rosedale, Virginia; seventeen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 PM Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Fairley Spencer and Rev. Tommy Dye officiating. Entombment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
Rev. Claude Rose will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
The family will receive friends after 6 PM Thursday at the Honaker Funeral Home where an evening service will be conducted at 7 PM with Rev. Gene Miller officiating.
