Illonda "Lonnie" V. Conklin, 69 of Poughkeepsie, NY passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 at home. Born in Poughkeepsie on February 28, 1948, she was the daughter of Chester and Elna Burton Plass. Lonnie attended schools in Wappingers Falls and in Minnesota. On September 26, 1970 she married Bruce A. Conklin in Wappingers Falls and he survives her at home. Lonnie was an avid bird watcher and she loved Lake George and the ocean. She loved being outdoors and gardening and she loved to dance. Lonnie was a loving mother and wife. In addition to her husband Bruce, Lonnie is survived by her son and his girlfriend Brett A. Conklin and Katrina Moyer of Clinton Corners, NY, her sister Pamelyn Turner of FL, two nieces and her aunt and her husband, Cindy and John Ashburn of Wappingers Falls, NY. "A special thank you to Patty LaRose and Karen Simmons of Hudson Valley Hospice for the devotion and care for Illonda". There are no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at 10:00am in the Chapel at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
