Obituary for Barbara Y. Black (York)
Penobscot/Belfast- Barbara Y. Black, 91, passed away October 30, 2017. She was the daughter of Alvin T. and Caroline W. (West) York.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Mary Esther Weaver, grandchildren; David W. Weaver Jr, Prudence Davis and her husband Jeff and Gretchen Cousins, 8 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter, along with several special nieces, nephews and cousins.
Barbara was very active in the Castine Grange, the Orland and Penobscot Eastern Star.
At Barbara’s request there will be no visiting hours. There will be a graveside service for immediate family only. Date to be announced later. There will be a celebration of life for Barbara on Saturday November 11th at 2:pm at the Orland Masonic Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Castine Grange Hall or the Riverside Chapter #123 Order of the Eastern Star C/O Betty Jean Bachman 300 State Route 46 Bucksport, ME 04416.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Services Bucksport. (mitchelltweedie-young.com)
