Mary Genevieve Vanacore, age 87, of West Haven passed away on November 3, 2017. She was the beloved mother of Rosemarie Arminio, Sandra Arminio, Richard (Pamela) Arminio and Christopher Vanacore Sister of Gabriel (Rose) Pragano. Also survived by five grandchildren Michelle (Mike) Nocereto, Richard Renaud, Richard Arminio Jr, Tyler Scopp and Lindsay Arminio, three great grandchildren Maddox Renaud, Leo Nocereto, Jaxon Scopp, her nephews Michael (Rose) Pragano, Robert (David) Pragano, Steve (Robin) Pragano, her favorite Mark (Cathie) Pragano, Sean (Patti) Pragano, her niece Debbie Pragano, sisters-in-law Cynthia Pragano, special friend Josephine “Dolly” Pragano, her cousin Billy (Gia) Camera, special friend who has been like a daughter to her, Darlene Piascik and all her friends at Morrissey Manor. She was predeceased by two great granddaughters Gianna Marie and Alessandra Marie Arminio and her brothers Richard, Manuel and Anthony Pragano Jr. Born in New Haven, June 26, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Anne Gambardella Pragano. Mary waitressed most of her life in local area restaurants. She was an avid Yankees fan and UCONN Girls basketball fan.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Eric and Vitas for their kindness and compassion and especially to her primary nurse Jen.
In accordance with Mary’s wishes, there are no services. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorials Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis,TN. 38105-9959.
