I remember the first time Randy brought Amy to our house to introduce his new girlfriend. At that time, in the good old days, before sensitivities and political correctness drove us all to the monotony of niceness, I considered myself the king of sarcasm. I don't know what I said to Amy, but it was just some quip that was par for the course for me at the time. It wasn't meant to be mean or disrespectful, or at least I don't think so. In hindsight I'm sure it would have driven some present-day millenials crying from the residence, pleading with her parents to call a lawyer and try to get her a spot on Ellen where she could be coddled and given an exotic vacation simply to caress her fragile ego.
Well, not Amy. She came back with a one liner so fast that I immediately knew I'd have to up my game just to compete. Yeah, she was really something. Can't believe she's gone.
Fortunately she instilled that same confidence in all three of her boys. They're pretty good with the one line comebacks too.
Rest in Peace Amy
