Maryanne and Fred Meyerriecks
Barbara and I met in second grade at St. Catherine of Sienna grammar school and formed a fast friendship, from jump roping in the schoolyard to playing at one another's homes. She was the light of her parents' lives, an only child, a late-in-life blessing to them. Barbara had an exquisite voice, and I remember participating in the CYO Regional Talent Show with her, accompanying her as she sang "The Sound of Music." She got married when I was a freshman at college, and our paths veered in different directions, particularly when my husband's career took us to four different states, but I always knew when Christmas was coming--as her Christmas card faithfully arrived on the day after Thanksgiving.
Reading her obituary, I am happy that she shared God's love with so many people in her community. I am glad that she lived in a small friendly town where sbe was surrounded by kindness and caring.
Christ lived through her and now she shares more completely in the fullness of God's love.
I am so sorry for your loss.
