Nolin Lee Renfrow, 61, passed away unexpectedly November 3, 2017. He was born in Canon City on December 16, 1955. Nolin lived life to the fullest and was extremely accomplished. He graduated from Canon City High School in 1974 and graduated from Western State University in 1977. Nolin began working for the Department of Corrections as a graveyard shift guard at the Old Max. Throughout his 30-year career with the Department he worked his way through the ranks and ultimately retired as the Director of Prisons.
He was an avid bodybuilder and won the title of Mr. Colorado in 1983. Nolin was a Civil War buff and knew the histories of each battle and the histories of those who fought in the war. He was a member of the Mensa Society and had a brilliant mind. Nolin loved the outdoors, he enjoyed pheasant hunting and often went to Canada to fish for salmon with his family. He was a member of Grandview Christian Church where he has served as an adult Sunday School teacher.
Nolin was a firm believer of the after-life and longed to see his family members again. He will be terribly missed. Goodbye for now, see you on the other side. Love, all your family.
