Condolence: Sue,
My deepest condolences to you and your family.
I worked for 2 years with Don in the '90's and I always remember his warm welcoming smile and the joy that he exhibited while working with difficult students. He shared his passion of the outdoors with them and he "glowed" when they spoke of their enjoyment of the outdoor experiences that he & Bill Steer provided. He liked to call me "Ollie" whenever, he stopped by my office for a chat.
He will be missed by many in the community
Sincerely
Olive Ridler

Condolence: So sad to hear the news about my friend Don. We worked together for two summers at Arrowhead Camp in the 70's, and connected after that at a reunion I held in the 90's, a surprise visit when I lived in Port Perry, and a lovely motorcycle ride I took two years ago to North Bay. Facebook and the telephone kept us informed, and I know that I speak for Mary Burnett Gallagher and all the other Arrowhead Staff, that the world has lost a shining light. My sincerest condolences during this difficult time to Susan and the family.

Condolence: I worked with Don at NEMHC and at NBRHC. I didn't mind cleaning up the messes because I knew people were having a good time. He had such a caring heart and people's faces lit up when he spoke with them because he took the time to get to know them. He set the example for caring and will be a great loss to our hospital and his family.

Condolence: Dear Susan, Sarah, Nik and Heidi. I am so very sorry and sad for your loss. I have so many fond memories of Don going back to when I first met him at age 15 working at Bigwood's. I loved babysitting all of you and he would always make sure I could watch Robyn Hood when you were all asleep. (bad Kevin Costner accent and all) Don was such a support to me in my teenage years and his constant calm demeanour, great sense of humour and easy laughter and big loving heart will be missed. Sending you all lots of love. Amy xo

Condolence: I am very sorry to hear that a fun-loving, caring friend will no longer be out kayaking on the lake. I will surely miss him. It was only in mid-July that we were enjoying a sunny carefree day on the dock. Sigh!

Condolence: You have been a constant force and supportive brother my entire life. I always appreciated your care and respect for people, and your dedication to make others life better. You were simply a good guy. In a world of so much hate and intolerance, you stood out. I can't imagine my life without you. Words are so inadequate. 'Till we meet again!

Condolence: Dear Susan and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Don's passing. Our world has lost such a caring, compassionate and fun loving man. He truly was an inspiration to work with, always putting his patients' needs first and going the extra mile to bring enjoyment and peace into their lives.
He served his fellow men and women and community in so many ways, his church, his in line coaching, his exemplary work with NEMHC, his friendly welcome and knowledgable and professional service at Bigwood, his genuine friendship to so many. It was always very special to experience his joy when sharing stories of you all, his family.

Rest in peace, Don. We will always remember your smile and the twinkle in your eye.
Hugs and prayers to you all.

Diane and Don

Condolence: Susan,
It is with such sadness that we learned of Don's passing. Norm and I reflected today upon the many contributions Don made as a member of the Nipissing Inline Hockey League. Don provided guidance when all things around us sometimes felt too crazy. He was a gentle coach to all the kids that were fortunate enough to be on his many teams overs the years, and personally witnessing the absolute delight his family brought to him was what all should strive for. We appreciated him so very much. Please accept our most sincere condolences. Warm regards, Susan Church and Norm Marion
