George Richard "Dick"  Johnson
George Richard "Dick" Johnson. 80, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Chambersburg Hospital. He was born December 17, 1936 in Chambersburg, the son of the late Charles Ambrose and Alberta (Ransom) Johnson. Dick attended Bethel A.M.E. in Greencastle. He was a baseball coach for the Community Little League for many years and played on the Washington Senators Farm Team Semi Pro Baseball. He also enjoyed playing racquetball at the YMCA, hunting and was an avid Dallas Cowboys, LA Dodgers and Penn State Football fan. His favorite time was time spent with family and friends. He was a much beloved husband and father and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Surviving are his wife, Jeanne Johnson; three children, Loretta (Kelly) Wright, Sherri Johnson Wilkins, George (Nichole) Johnson; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; devoted cousins, Beatrice Ransom and daughter, Charnell; brother, Charles (Terri) Johnson, many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Johnson. The Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Sellers Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Lebanon Cemetery.
