Obituary for Robert Edward Kriner

Robert Edward Kriner 79, of Shippensburg, departed this life on the evening of Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at the Chambersburg Hospital.

He was born on April 3, 1938, in Chambersburg, a son of the late Leroy and Tressa Myers Kriner. Robert was a 1956 graduate of Chambersburg High School and a member of the U.S. Army Reserve, honorably discharged on December 22, 1956.

Robert worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service. Earlier in life he did book-keeping for McCune Lumber for many years. Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing. He attended both the Newburg and Chambersburg First Church of God and taught Sunday School.

Robert is survived by his wife Dixie of Shippensburg; his daughter, Michelle L. (Dirk) Brant of Chambersburg; three grandchildren, Angela K. (Kevin) Reeder of Chambersburg, Lauren M. (Richard) Collier of Fayetteville, and David A. (Samantha) Brant of Chambersburg; four great granddaughters, Ava G. and Katelynn J. Reeder, Emma J. Brant, and Eleanor L. Collier; brother, William Kriner; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his son, Ricky Leroy Kriner, who died in 1987; a sister Dixie Kriner, and a sister in infancy.

His funeral services, entrusted to the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc., Shippensburg, will be private. There will be no public viewing or visitation.
