I am very sorry for your loss. God didn't intend for things like this to happen. He promises us in Revelation 21:3, 4 that death and suffering will be no more. And he also promises us in John 5:28, 29 that he will bring back to life our loved ones.  I hope you can find comfort in God's promise. To know more visit jw.org
