Obituary for Olan Rila Roberds

Rila Roberds, 57, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 in Brownwood, Texas.
Rila was born to Ervin “Bud” and Wanda (Till) Roberds on November 20, 1959 in Brady, Texas. Rila graduated from Richland Springs and went on to graduate from Angelo State University with a Bachelor’s Degree. Although Rila taught some, his passion was ranching. Rila married Brenda Patrick in Bowser on February 14, 1987. Together they had 2 girls, Toni and Lindsey. He was a member of the Richland Springs School board, Richland Springs Rodeo Association and Elm Grove Fire Department. Rila always loved history, and was a music buff. He could do anything, whether it be welding, electrical, carpentry, automotive, etc. He never met a stranger, whether it be going down the country road or in a big city, the family always knew why he was late. As one of his neighbors stated “He truly had a servant’s heart. He put other’s needs ahead of his own and served without recognition. He never told his girls they couldn’t do anything whether it was changing a flat or building a fence. He loved to fish, hunt and help coach kids in sports. Rila was 27 when he married Brenda and she and the girls never doubted his love. He was everyone’s SUPERHERO!
He is survived by his wife, Brenda; 2 daughters: Toni Graf and husband, Chris of Brown County and Lindsey Roberds of Granbury, Texas; Mother: Wanda Roberda; 1 sister: Ranita Richmon and husband, Terry of Indian Creek, Texas; 3 grandchildren: Kaci, Erin and Jaden Graf.
He is preceded in death by his father: Bud Roberds; grandparents: Sherman and Leona Till and Ervin and Grace Roberds.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Varga Cemetery, Bowser Church or Elm VFD.
