Earl William  Kercher
Earl W. Kercher, 96, resident of Elmcroft Senior Living formerly of West Lawn,, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on November 12, 2017.

He was the devoted and loving husband of June (Neuhardt) Kercher, and they celebrated 61 years
of marriage before her passing in June 2012.

Born June 19, 1921, in Wheeling, WV, he was the son of the late Chris and Nina Bibbee Kercher.

Earl "Bud" graduated from Warwood High School in 1939, and attended West Liberty University.

He was a member of the West Lawn United Methodist Church.

Earl was a United States Navy veteran who served as a Chief Petty Officer in active duty at Pearl Harbor during WWII.

Earl started his career working at I️.B.M. in Pittsburgh for eight years and then worked 30 years and retired from General Cigar as Data Processing Director.

Earl was an avid golfer and continued to play the sport well into his 80’s, scoring his first hole in one at 80.

He is predeceased by his two siblings, Harold Kercher and Ruth Kercher Walker.

Earl is survived by four children: Lou Ann, wife of Larry Albertson, Binghamton, NY; Linda, wife of Michael Dutt, Cumru Township, Karen, wife of David Kuhlman, Union Township, and Christine Corcoran, Phoenixville. Earl is survived by eight grandchildren: Amy, Zach, Jason, Megan, Brad, Stephanie, Caitlin, and Ryan. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 11 a.m., in Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home, Inc., 739 Penn Avenue, West Reading. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memorial Park, 390 W. Neversink Rd., Reading, PA 19606. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service in the funeral home, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Online condolences may be recorded at www.kuhnfuneralhomes.com.
