Geraldine Louise "Jerry"  Smith (Ashey)
Stockton Springs- Geraldine “Jerry” Louise Smith, 84, passes away at her home November 11, 2017. She was born on March 8, 1933 in Searsport, the daughter of AL and Dolly Ashey.
Jerry graduated from Searsport High School class of 1951. Jerry in her earlier years was active in the Rebekah Lodge, Searsport United Methodist Church, Girls Scouts, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and whatever function her children were participating in. In her later years, Jerry was very active in Sandy Point Congregational Church, Sandy Point Ladies aid, and she loved working at Weight Watchers.
Jerry “Mom” enjoyed having her family and friends for many gatherings. Mom loved to cook and share with many people. Everything she made was delicious, she was best known for her donuts.
Mom loved to have a clean house, beautiful flower gardens, her vegetable garden, which she canned and enjoyed in the winter.
Jerry is survived by her husband Tink Smith of Stockton Springs, children; Rainey and friend Mike of Searsport and Bruce and wife Paula of Stockton Springs, grandchildren; Todd and Jan Jackson, Glen and Danielle Smith all of Searsport, Eric and Mandy Smith of Frankfort and Kristie Smith of Stockton Springs, great-grandchildren; Connor and Cassie Jackson, Destiny, Angelique, Haley, Gabriella and Natthaen Smith. Jerry is also survived by sisters Sylvia and Gary Woods and Cheryl and Andy Remillard. Brothers Joseph Ashey and Edgar and Cheryl Ashey. Sister-in-laws; Brenda Ashey, Nancy Ashey, Louise Smith, Glenna Salley, and Judy and Steve Files. Brother-in-laws; Red Payson, George Smith and Floyd Smith. She’s also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many, many great friends. Jerry is predeceased by her parents, sisters; Minnie Payson and Becky Smith, brothers; Bub Ashey and Frank Ashey, son-in-law Lynwood Jackson, sister-in-law’s; Ruth Ashey and Dorothy Smith and brother-in-law; Royce Smith.

Family and friends will gather for a funeral service at 2:00pm on Thursday November 16, 2017 at Sandy Point Congregational Church Sandy Point. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Services Bucksport. (mitchelltweedie-young.com)
