Winfred Clive Evans, 97, died on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, November 17, 2017 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, OK. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Winfred was born to George D. Evans and Clara Rutherford Evans Wilson on September 14, 1920 and was raided in the Mehan area of Ripley OK. In December of 1949, he took the hand of his love, Ruby Clairlee Hover and they were married in Stillwater.
W.C. was in the Army and served during WWII. He loved to garden and farm. He and Clairlee played in a country and western dance band, with him on the drums and her singing. Later they played at Senior Citizens dances until he was 89 years old. They lived in Colorado, Wichita, KS. and Perkins, OK. He worked at Bradley Plumbing, a mechanic for the City of Stillwater and at Mercury Marine until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Peggy Murlin (Raymond); one brother, Lang Allen Wilson (Gloria) and brother in law, Whitty Mitton.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Fred Evans (Kay Messenger), two daughters, Ruth Raper Harting (Eugene) and Emma Lewis (Stephen); two brothers, Gary Ray Wilson (Sarah) and Jesse Willis Wilson (Greta); two sisters, Lydia Ann Mitton and Rose Darlene Kinzie (Charles) 11 grandchildren, Shane Raper (Misty), Amanda Williamson (Burke), Wesley Evans (Tracey), Angela Harting (Kevin), Kelsi Blasier (Lance), Kody Lewis (Chelsie), Dedra Messenger, Jamie Messenger, Jennifer Crawford (Jason), Crystal Harting (Nate), Jason Harting and many others that called him grandpa; 12 great grandchildren, Kailee Jo Harting, Tanner Harting, Elias Williamson, Edie Williamson, Ayrali Blaiser, Payli Blaiser, Kaslyn Blaiser, Olive Cannon, Javon Cannon, Abby Gray, Klint Harting, Kalie Harting and Kadeford.
