Betty Jean Varela
Betty Jean Tolson Varela was born May 25th, 1927 in Springfield, Missouri and raised in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. She passed on Sunday, November 12th 2017 in Menifee, California. She married George Varela in Los Angeles.Betty was a hard working, independent, self-motivated mother. She came from a small town to a big city in Los Angeles with only $75. Banishing any procrastination, never asking for help. She
provided a life long example of self motivation to succeed while taking care of her family. Betty worked 30 years for the same company as a warehouse manager in retail products. She always thought of others sacrificing her own selfless needs for the sake of family and friends. A talkative extrovert
socially confident person. Her recollection of people lives and family history a champion of example recalling to memory. Her hobbies were crocheting, and knitting. She made small blankets for the elderly.
The family wishes to thank Hospice of the Valley for all the loving care. She is survived by her son, Louis S. Varela and daughter in law Joan Kenney-Varela. She had 4 grandchildren and 5 Great
grandchildren. Many friends at the Oaisis where she lived and enjoyed games and community events.
She preceded George Varela who died in 1986 the love of her life. He was a veteran and served in the Navy. George worked as a mechanic on low boy trailers in Los Angeles She will be buried beside George at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside. On Nov 21st at 9am.
