He was a great man to know both personally and professionally. Condolence: Pat and I are so shocked and saddened to hear of Kevin's passing. From 1977 when I first began at the Melfort Journal, I worked directly under Kevin. We became friends and stayed in touch all these years after leaving Melfort to publish the newspaper in Rosetown. His generosity, work ethic and love for his community was a reflection of the entire Phillips family and it was a privilege to have known Kevin and been his friend. Condolence: Was terribly shocked and saddened hearing the passing of Kevin Phillips, our MLA for Melfort. Several years ago Kevin and I ran against each other for the nomination of the Melfort Constituency for the Saskatchewan Party Fortunately for the Constituency, Kevin won. He was an amazing representative for this constituency. He was wise, pragmatic and diligent. I believe that he truly loved his work. He was everywhere in the constituency working hard for not only his constituents, but also the province. He had a great sense of humor which at times was very dry and could be said at times, a bit twisted. I am so sorry for his family, friends and colleagues. Will miss you my friend.
