Sadly, long time West Haven resident, Catherine DeSorbo, passed away on November 14, 2017. Born in 1926, Catherine graduated from Commercial High School and went to work at the Seamless Rubber Company. She was a very loyal, dependable employee, retiring as Credit Manager in 1987 after 40 years of service. Catherine will be greatly missed by her family and many friends and neighbors. Mourning her loss is her loving sister Phyllis Panico Sortito of Branford, her nieces, Maria Sortito and Diane Ritucci (Louis) of Woodbridge, 2 grand nephews, Johnathan and Justin Ritucci and many cousins. She was predeceased by another niece, Karen Sortito of New York City as well as her brother-in-law, John Sortito.
The family would like to thank the staff of Ledgewood II, Branford Hills Health Center for all their loving care and concern for Catherine for the last couple of years, especially Mike, Ally & Michele.
Catherine was a frequent donator to W.H.E.A.T., 674 Washington Avenue, West Haven and also gave of herself to anyone who needed her. Whether it be a ride to the store, or a doctor’s appointment or running an errand, her friends and neighbors could always count on her. To honor her memory, please follow her lead.
A visitation will be held on Monday from 9 to 10:30 AM at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM at Saint Lawrence Church. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, North Haven.
