Obituary for Margaret Stevens

Margaret Oliver Stevens, age 95, died at her residence at Aspire, Northport, AL on November 18, 2017. Following cremation, a private graveside burial will take place at a later date. Magnolia Funeral Home in Northport is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce W. Stevens; parents, C.T. and Eleanora Oliver; brother, Charles T. Oliver, Jr. Survivors include 3 sons: Robert (Alexa), Riverdale, NY, Brian, Gallatin, TN, Charles (Cynde), Columbus, MS; 3 grandsons: Matthew (Beth), Huntsville, AL, Cory, Santa Clara, CA and William, Brooklyn, NY; nephew and niece: Charles Wick (Nancy) Oliver, III, Alpharetta, GA and Sherrie Waugh, Sacramento, CA.
Mrs. Stevens, a native of Tuscaloosa, AL, was a graduate of the University of Alabama, served in the U.S. Navy WAVES and later graduated from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work, Washington University, St. Louis, MO. She retired from Indian Rivers Mental Health Center. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of West Alabama, Tuscaloosa Public Library, Temporary Emergency Services, Tuscaloosa Study Club or Daughters of the American Colonists (NSDAC).
