The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Doreen Bowie can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence From: Susan Fresneda
Condolence: Doreen was a member of the coffee break group at Bluewater Park apartments. When she told us of her illness last Spring and her treatment decision, we were very sad. I admired her courage and her strength to live her life fully.

Condolence: Wow, this is a shocker. I grew up across the street from Doreen and her family; her daughter Laurie was my best friend. I was always amazed by her strength, her kindness, her sense of humour and her determination. She was a great lady as I knew her with a great smile and a good heart. My condolences to her family. My heart is with you and I'm thinking of you and hoping that the memories you have and the love that you hold will balance the pain of your loss.

Condolence: I don't know that I ever saw my departed cousin in my adult life and certainly not in the last quarter century.

However, I do recall from my childhood the older teenager buzzing around our house once in a while. Really all I can remember is that Doreen was likeable and vivacious in those years.

For the family and those who knew her better that me, I share the sorrow of the loss.

Another passing is a great reminder to me of my life commitment expressed by CT Studd a missionary of long ago ...
Only one life
'Twill soon be past
Only what's done
For Christ will last.
