Jackie Jean  Deaton
Jackie Jean Deaton, 88, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 22, 2017, in Arlington, Tx.

Graveside service 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 25, at Oakwood Cemetery, Jefferson, Texas.

Jackie was born August 5, 1929, in Dallas to William and Frances Rowell Nichols. She was raised in the Rowell family home in Jefferson. She was a 1949 graduate of Sam Houston State University and went on to receive her Master’s degree in Education from Southern Methodist University. While Jackie was a student at Sam Houston, she met the love of her live, E.C. Deaton. They were married for 64 years until his death in March 2014. Jackie taught school for 30 years in Farmers Branch where she was also an active member of the community. She was a past-president of the North Dallas Women’s Club and a board member of the Farmers Branch Historical Society, where she was known for her wonderful fashion shows from her private collection of vintage clothing, hats and antique pieces. She also loved being outside, especially spending time in her flower garden.

Jackie lived in Farmers Branch, Sun City and Arlington, Tx where she spent the last three years surrounded by the caring staff and her friends at Brookdale Pecan Park.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.

Survivors: Daughter, Connie Deaton Gauntt and husband, Doug, of Arlington; son, Craig Deaton of Plano; granddaughters, Kimi Golden, Briana Meixelsperger, Heather Perez and Hannah Espinoza; six great-grandchildren; and nieces, Cindy Griffith, Linda Archer and Faye Reed.
