Obituary for Jose L. Mares
Jose “Joe” Mares passed away on November 20, 2017. Joe was born in Jerome, Arizona, on January 30, 1943 and spent his childhood in Bisbee. He served in the US Air Force from 1961 to 1967. After his service, Joe and his wife Irene made their home in Downey, CA. They moved with their three young children to Lake Elsinore in 1978. Joe worked for GTE and spent his free time working on his classic cars as well as being involved in the kids’ sports such as, BMX, Little League, soccer and football. After retiring from GTE, Joe worked at Elsinore Water District and Elsinore Unified School District and helped to coach the Elsinore Tigers football team to several wins, including a CIF Championship in 2010. Joe was a dedicated family man and devoted his life to his children and wife. He is survived by, his wife Irene, daughter TaVaughna, and sons Vince and Victor. His grandchildren Jesse, Jayme, Larissa, Layne, Maia and Kourtney, whom he loved dearly. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 2:00pm am at Murrieta Valley Funeral Home, 24651 Washington Avenue, Murrieta.
