Obituary for Derek Thomas Lloyd
LLOYD, Derek Thomas April 14 1941 – November 23 2017
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Derek Lloyd. He passed away peacefully at Innisfree House on November 23, 2017 in his 77th year. Survived by the mother of his children, Anne Lloyd (Webster). Loving and supportive father to Louise Lloyd (Nam-Seob Mun) and Rebecca Gorman (Shawn). Grandad to Dylan, Morgan, Liam, and Brendan. Predeceased by his parents, Edward and Emily May Lloyd of Abergele, North Wales.
Born in St. Asaph, North Wales, Derek grew up in Abergele and immigrated to Canada in 1983, and his family followed in 1989.
In Canada and North Wales, Derek’s masterskills and knowledge of roofing, especially slating, will be admired and treasured for many years. He was known for his passion of football, especially for the love of his favourite team Manchester United. Above all, Derek will be remembered for his love and devotion of his four grandsons - his pride and joy.
The family would like to thank Dr. Cassey, the nurses, staff, and volunteers at Innisfree House for their care and support of Derek during his last few weeks. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to Innisfree House in Kitchener.
As per Derek’s wishes a private family gathering has been held.
