Obituary for Helen Lynn Haworth

Helen Lynn Haworth
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Lynn Haworth, on November 26, 2017. She passed peacefully while surrounded by her family at the Riverview Health Centre.
Lynn was born on June 5, 1943 at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg and grew up in St. Boniface. She also called Flin Flon home for some of her teenage years. She finally moved back to Winnipeg to take up a career in banking in the 1960’s that did include a short stop in Brandon.
Lynn’s earlier positions in the finance industry included time spent with Ladco, K-Tel and the Province of Manitoba. Lynn entered the Certified General Accountants program in the late 1970’s and after years of late nights, she proudly achieved her goal of graduating with her CGA degree in 1986. Following her business instincts, in 1989, Lynn made the bold move to become one of the first female practitioners in Manitoba to open her own public accounting practice, Haworth & Company. Lynn would tell you that while she had interests in golf, knitting, travel and going to watch her grandkids play or perform, she would always tell anyone that would listen that her greatest joy in life was spending time with her kids and their families.
Lynn was predeceased by her grandparents Helen and Howard Fawcett as well as her parents Gertrude and Robert Hoover. She is survived by her son Doug (Debbie), her son Ken (Kim) and her daughter Leanne. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kayla (Mike), Jenna (Ryan), Ben, Sam and Abby as well as her great-grandchildren Chanel, Oliver, Elliot, Natalie and Theo and her sisters Diane, Linda, Elaine, Judy, Sandie and Grace and their husbands as well as many cousins.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Riverview Health Centre for their excellent care during her brief stay with them. For those who wish to make a donation in Lynn’s honour to the CancerCare Manitoba Foundation it would be greatly appreciated.
