Obituary for Donald J Sater

Donald J Sater
Donald Sater went home to heaven on November 28th 2017. He was born on May 23rd, 1925 to Harriet and Lawrence Sater. The youngest boy of eight brothers and sisters. During his years in school not only did he farm but he played football, basketball, ran in track and wrestled. Once he graduated he continued to farm in Longmont. He met and married the love of his life Genevieve on November 6th 1945. After a few years they decided to move to the city where they had two children. Stan, 66 and Delieth, 62. Sadly on April 10th, 1964 she got sick and went home to heaven leaving him here to raise two small children.

Don, went through life working and raising his kids for three years until he met Alice Martin. They got married on December 1, 1968. He worked as a meat packer for 29 years until they closed down the plant. He then found a job at Rose Medical Center as maintenance. Where he worked until he had to have open heart surgery. He retired but kept active. He would take odd jobs. Driving cars, volunteer work for Adams County. He was one of the founders of the Historical Society in Commerce City. He received many awards for his volunteer work over the years. In May of 2001 his second wife passed away.

Don, was a grandfather of four. Dawn Mosman, Colleen Jocobo, Bobby Jones, LeRoy Clark. He was a Great Grandfather of Three. Jermiah Schale, Marckus Schale, and Dakota Schale. All his grandchildren and two of his great grandchildren are still alive. Dakota preceded him in death.

Don, loved to travel and did a lot of it through the years. He loved to see new things. Everyone that he meet was an instant friend. To him there was no such word as stranger. He treated everyone equally. His smile was contagious. He was always happy go lucky.

He was a member of Northside Baptist Church for 37 years. He was active in his church as a greeter. He loved it. He just loved greeting people and making them smile.
He had 8 brothers and sisters. Martha Sater Pralle Squires, Edgar Sater, Alfred Sater, Albert Sater, Pauline Sater Schieck, Mary Sater Lewis, and Viola Nichols. Viola is the only surviving sibling.
Don, will be greatly missed by those of us that are left behind. But for him his work on earth is done. Now he runs with the angels in heaven.

We are having a visitation at Aspen Mourtaries in Commerce City Monday, December 4th from 6-8pm
His services will be held Dec. 5th at 11 am at Northside Baptist Church 11550 Washington Street. Northglenn, Colorado. Interment follows at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Wheat Ridge, CO..
