Robert William Taylor
Obituary written and submitted by family
It is with great sadness that the family of Robert William Taylor announces his passing on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at the age of 73 years.
Robert was born March 27, 1944 in West Virginia to Charles and Katherine Taylor, and grew up in Youngstown, Ohio. As a young man he was a championship boxer and served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War as an infantry soldier. After the war, Robert was a successful entrepreneur and developed his own hair products, “That’s It” and “R’Tic.” Robert also had a popular three-story salon, “Mr.Taylor’s” in Downtown, San Diego. He was one of the best cosmetologists and revolutionized the hair and beauty industry. Recently, Robert became a senior bodybuilding winner in Venice beach. Robert was the jack of all trades; he was a veteran, boxer, businessman, cosmetologist, chef, singer, bodybuilder, friend, son, and most importantly, a father. He is survived by his daughter and his four sons. He always believed to “never give up.” Robert had a witty and loving personality and will be missed dearly.
