Obituary for Dana Andrew Blanchette

Dana Andrew  Blanchette
Dana Andrew Blanchette, 61, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017 in Arlington.

Funeral Mass: Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 7, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 5819 W Pleasant Ridge Rd, Arlington 76016. Interment: Hawkins Cemetery, Arlington. Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, with a rosary beginning at 8 p.m. at Wade Family Funeral Home, 4140 W. Pioneer Parkway, Arlington.

Memorials: Memorial gifts may be made to the Men’s Club of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Dana was born on March 28, 1956 in Chicago, IL to Joe Byron Blanchette and Mary Louise Hayden Blanchette. He resided in Arlington for the past 17 years. Dana retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant. He currently was employed as a Hydro Technician for the U.S. Geological Survey.
Dana was an active member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church where he was SVDP Men’s Club Ambassador and ushered at the 9am Mass. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
He was an avid Cowboys, Rangers and Aggie’s fan. Dana enjoyed golfing, TX Whiskey and cigars. He loved God, family and country.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Byron Blanchette in January of 2009.

Survivors: Wife of 35 years, Sherry Ann Fields Blanchette; mother, Mary Hayden Blanchette; son, Joe Andrew Blanchette and wife, Lauren Ashley; daughter, Stacey Marie Blanchette; sister, Karen Susan Wilson; and a host of other family members and friends.
