The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Wilma Burke can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Condolence From: Abby Naomi
Condolence: Please allow me to express my deepest condolences for your family's loss. I hope that you will find comfort in the real hope that the Bible gives of being reunited with your loved one again. In the Bible at John 5:28, 29 it reads, "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out.". The Bible there promises that your loved one will come back to life again in the resurrection. (Acts 24:15) The Bible also promises that soon death will be no more. (Revelation 21:3, 4) I encourage you to visit JW.org for more information about this wonderful hope.

Condolence: I was saddened to read of the passing of Tina. What a beautiful picture of her! It's been years since I have seen her, but so loved working with her years ago at Dravo Corp. She had an incredible spirit and sense of humor.

Condolence From: George Hausser
Condolence: I remember the last time I saw Tina/Wilma. It was the summer of 2015 in the waiting room at a Parkersburg auto dealership. For many years I had addressed her as Wilma . . . not knowing why she had adopted the name. Our conversation drifted to the Burke Brothers band (circa 1940-50) and music appreciation. She told about going to the country music parks in her childhood to see her favorite - Wilma Lee Cooper - wife and singing partner in the band "Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper and the Clinch Mountain Clan". Wilma Lee Cooper happened to be one of my favorites also. Our conversation took on a new dimension in addition to reminiscing about the old days in the Rainbow neighborhood. Her car was ready and she left the waiting room. I guess I was wishing the mechanic had been slower with the repair. There was so much more to talk about.
